The Crew
Skipper
Matthew Cale started his Pro Fishing career on January 1992 in Tasmania Trot Lining the east coast for Blue Eye Trevally, Ling, Hoki. His Pro Fishing then headed north to Mooloolaba and eventually back home to Magnetic Island where he moved onto the Prawn Trawlers.
He has extensive knowledge of the East Coast of Australia and particularly Queensland. In 2000 Matt decided to move to the Whitsundays and the opportunity to own his own Charter business, Jillian Fishing Charters, became available. He has been fishing the Whitsunday region and the reefs beyond for 9 years.
No other Commercial Charter in the area has the knowledge of where the fish are than Matt, if he can’t find them chances are no one else will either!

History
Jillian Fishing Charters
The Cale family bought the Jillian Fishing Charters business in May 2000. The first vessel was a beautiful 40 year old wooden vessel. After using her services for 5 years it was with some sadness that an upgrade was needed. After much searching and research they decided to buy a beautiful 40ft Cougar Cat (White Game Boat) which went by the name of the ‘Spirit of Eden’. She was steamed back up the coast, with a couple of adventures on the way, and proudly renamed Jillian 2.
She allows the business to run in a vaster array of weather conditions and is much faster than Jillian 1 which allows you more fishing time.
